What EV charger should I buy?
It depends on your car, your home setup, and how fast you want to charge. Most people go for a Level 2 home charger, which is fast, safe, and perfect for overnight charging.
Some chargers also integrate with solar – so you can power your EV straight from the sun! We can help you choose a charger that’s compatible with your vehicle and works seamlessly with your solar system.
Can I charge my car for free with solar panels?
Yes – when your solar panels are producing more energy than your home is using, that extra power can go straight into charging your EV. That means you’re effectively fuelling your car for free, using sunshine!
To get the most out of it, it’s best to charge during the day. If you aren’t able to put your car on charge during the day, you can use a battery to store solar energy for evening charging. We can help set up a system that makes the most of your solar power and EV.
Do I need to have a garage to install an EV charger?
EV chargers can be installed outdoors just as easily. They’re weatherproof and built to handle the elements.
Whether you park in a driveway, carport, or garage, we’ll find a safe and convenient spot for your charger. We’ll also make sure it’s positioned for easy day-to-day use and future-proofed for your setup.
Can a Tesla use a non-Tesla charger?
Yes, it can! In Australia, Teslas come with a Type 2 charging port, which is the same standard used by most EV chargers here. That means your Tesla can charge on nearly any non-Tesla home or public charger. Just check if an adaptor is needed for fast DC charging stations – but for home use, you’re good to go with most chargers we install.
